Reading Room Inspiration

If you were to ask any of my friends and family how much I read, I am ninety-nine point five percent positive that they would say something along the lines of, "too much." And y'know what, it's true. Reading is something that I love to do in my pastime (especially when I'm supposed to be doing something else).  It gives me the freedom to escape the world and live in someone else's. So, it was no shock to my mom when I said that I needed a reading area in our new home.  She understood completely, and now, it's up to me to start brainstorming ideas for how I want my little nook to be - nothing too big, just something for me to cuddle up in. Overtime of reading a lot of home decor blogs and scouring the Internet for inspiration, I have come across many tutorials for DIY reading nooks, but I am not particularly interested in doing a DIY  at the moment. I simply want a chair, a carpet, some natural light, and good 'ole book that I can cozy up with.

What I Want for My Reading Area:

1. For it to be by a window. There is absolutely nothing better to me that reading by a window. There, I can see life, movement, and find inspiration. The natural light is also a bonus for when I don't necessarily want a light on in the room. (If you know me, you know that I hate artificial lighting.)

2. To have a big, comfy chair that I can curl up in. I tend to never let my legs hang out of a chair (unless I am eating). I usually curl up, and the best time to do that is when reading a book. So, I need a comfy chair that I won't have a problem with pulling my legs up, but still have some space left.

3. An area where I can be secluded. When I read, I hate for people to interrupt me by making a ton of noise, talking on the phone, playing music (that isn't my own), or trying to talk to me (seriously, that's like trying to talk to someone who has their earphones in - annoying!).

4. A comfy rug. Sometimes, when I am not in a chair, I love to read on the floor. Therefore, I need a comfy, soft rug to sit/lie on.

Some reading areas that have inspired me lately are below.  Which ones do you like the most? If you have a reading area, what's in yours/what do you like about it? I'd love to know in the comments below.
